Hello sisters of Nu Province!
Seattle Alumnae Chapter is tasked with the challenge of hosting Province day during this uncertain and topsy-turvy year!
The committee has decided that it would like to "throw out the rule book" on Province day this year, and will be holding 3 smaller events throughout the 2020-2021 school year instead. This will allow us to respond to lessons learned in the first event, and adjust the events as local COVID guidelines change throughout the school year.
Please save the date for the first event:
When: Saturday, October 3, 2020
9:15 am - Optional sisterhood/fellowship event
10:00 am to 12:00 pm - Key communications from PO, RO, and NH
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm - Optional sisterhood/fellowship events
Where: Virtually, via Zoom
All details will be sent via email and official communications will come from the Province Day Facebook Group. Please join this Facebook group as soon as possible if you are able!Event 2 will be held in January and will focus on a musicale (as best as we can at that point in the year), and event 3 will be held in April, and will be similar to the October event, focusing on communications from leadership and sisterhood.
If you have any recommendations or suggestions, please reach out to Katie Casamassa at email@example.com.
Thanks for your support during these chaotic times, we're going to try our best to make this year's Province Day(s) work for all of our membership!
Love and Roses,
Seattle Alumnae Chapter Province Day Committee
Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity was organized in 1903 "to form chapters of music students and musicians who shall by their influence and their musical interest uphold the highest ideals of a music education; to raise the standard of productive musical work among the women students of colleges, conservatories and universities." There are currently 226 active collegiate chapters, 113 active alumnae chapters throughout the United States, and 1 international chapter.
Our chapter is part of the Nu Province which has 3 active alumnae chapters and 2 active college chapters in Washington and Idaho. We have 26 active members as well as several inactive members and distinguished members in the area.
